HOSPITALITY AND INSTITUTIONAL MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT

The Hospitality and Institutional management Department is an accredited training unit offering Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) programmes in line with TVET Authority regulations and CDACC-approved occupational standards. The department focuses on developing competent, skilled, and certified graduates through learner-centred training, strong practical orientation, and continuous assessment. Training is delivered by qualified and registered trainers in well-equipped facilities, supported by structured industrial attachment and workplace learning to enhance employability and professional competence.

DEPARTMENT OBJECTIVES

The department aims to:

  1. Deliver quality CBET programmes in full compliance with CDACC and TVETA requirements
  2. Equip trainees with occupational competencies, professional ethics, and employability skills
  3. Promote entrepreneurship, self-reliance, and career progression
  4. Strengthen industry linkages to support industrial attachment, assessment, and workplace readiness

OUR PROGRAMS

Tourism

The Tourism programme equips trainees with practical skills and knowledge in tourism operations, travel management, tour guiding, and customer service. Training is competency-based and emphasizes industry exposure and sustainable tourism practices to meet current market demands. The programme is offered at Levels 3,4,5 and 6, providing clear pathways for career progression.

Institutional Management

The Institutional Management programme focuses on developing competencies in food production, catering services, and accommodation management for hospitality and institutional settings. Trainees acquire practical skills in service delivery, hygiene standards, customer care, and resource management. The programme is offered at Levels 3,4, 5 and 6, preparing learners for supervisory and managerial roles.

Cosmetology

The Cosmetology programme offers specialized training in hairdressing, skincare, and beauty therapy to meet the growing needs of the beauty and wellness industry. Training emphasizes practical skills, professional techniques, and customer care. The programme is offered at Levels 3, 4,5 and 6 preparing trainees for employment and self-employment.
